Hello – I’m looking forward to a weather forecast of sunshine and blue skies later this week. We’ve had a day or two of sunny goodness but I’m thinking a few days in a row would be great. And if the forecast is off, I will just have to get a dose of the blue and yellow from this garden gnome tag:
The little images are from the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set by Lawn Fawn. Instead of making a card I made another gift tag. To create the background I did the following:
- Paint manila tag with white gesso and let dry.
- Swipe different colors of Distress Stain across the tag and then spray with water and blot. This gives a subtle application of color.
- Swipe the Distress Stains across the background again (apply the same colors on top of the first colors), let sit for a few moments and then blot. Do not spray with water before blotting with paper towels. Let dry
- To finish spray with Calypso Teal Dylusions Ink Spray in a couple spots. Bloat excess color and let dry.
Once the tag was dry I stamped a grass border along the bottom in Jet Black Archival ink. I stamped the gnome and watering can on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers, cut out and adhered to the tag using foam dimensional tape.
So what do you think? I’m thinking he will be the perfect accent for gift packaging… maybe tied to a pot of flowers. :D
